Description Of Ultrafiltration System
Ultrafiltration (UF) is a variety of membrane filtration in which
forces like pressure or concentration gradients lead to a
separation through a semipermeable membrane. Suspended solids
andsolutes of high molecular weight are retained in the so-called
retentate, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass
through the membrane in the permeate. This separation process is
used in industry and research for purifying and concentrating
macromolecular (103 - 106 Da) solutions, especially protein
solutions.

Feature Of Industrial Ultrafiltration System
The design of the system is according to the municipal water
quality requirements. System configuration and setting can
completely meet the requirement in water conditions, the
energy-saving, simple operation and safety for the principle, And
guarantee system can long-term and stable operation.
Function of each part of water treatment plant:
1. feed water pump -- provide the pressure to quartz sand
filter/active carbon filter
2. Multi-medium filter-- get rid of turbidity, suspended matter,
organic matter, colloid, ect.
3. Active Carbon filter--Remove the color, free chloride, organic
matter, harmful matter, ect.
4. Softener--exchange "ions" of calcium and magnesium with the most
common and easiest method.
5. Security filter--prevent large particles, bacteria, viruses into
RO membrane, accuracy is 5um
6. High pressure pump-- Provide the high pressure to UF system
7. UF system-- main part of the plant.
8. UV sterilizer or ozone generator--- kill bacteria
Water Filtration Process :
1) A quartz sand filter:
Suspended matter in water is a smaller particle. It can be seen by
the naked eye that these particles are mainly composed of sediment,
clay, protozoa, algae, bacteria, and high molecular organic matter,
and are often suspended in water. Quartz sand can remove large
particles of suspended solids in water. Activated carbon can remove
the smell of fishy smell and odor caused by the reproduction and
decay of aquatic organisms, plants or microorganisms in water, the
muddy smell or astringency of organic matter, and the residual
chlorine remaining in disinfectant water.
2) Activated carbon filter:
Activated carbon can remove the smell of fishy smell and odor

3) Softener:
In order to prevent the precipitation of calcium and magnesium ions
in the water on the reverse osmosis membrane, the membrane module
is damaged by the solid particles, and large-scale scaling occurs.
Adding a softener before UF Ultrafiltration can extend the system
cleaning cycle limit and extend the life of the membrane to lower
the cost.
4)Precision filter:
The precision filter is the last filter device before entering the
UF Ultrafiltration host. It must ensure that the pollution index
SDI of the tap water before entering the UF host is stable below 4.
The pure water recovery rate of the UF unit is generally only
50%-60%. The maximum designed water volume is 1~10 M3/hr.
5)Ultra-Filtration host:
The Ultra-Filtration membrane is the heart of the system. Whether
the design is mature or reasonable or even directly determines
whether the system can meet the design requirements, and it is
related to the replacement of the membrane. The water treated by
the device can remove bacteria, organic matter and microorganisms.
There is no phase change in the process, high recovery rate, small
equipment size, automatic control operation, strong applicability,
wide application range, no environmental pollution and other
advantages. This system uses a medium-membrane system to remove
particles and organic matter in water.
